Blues Dancing

Let's dance in Philadelphia, Chicago style!

Cost: 0
No Registration Required

Do you remember listening and dancing to the blues during your UChicago days? Well, relive them on Monday, December 5th.

Every Monday night, lindyandblues.com has a Blues dance party in Center City. It starts with an hour lesson at 8:30 p.m., and then an open dance follows till midnight. Come with or without a partner and dress comfortably. The cost is only $7.

The lesson on the first Monday of the month is a novice lesson for those who have never learned Blues dancing, or have forgotten it, or just want a refresher for rusty joints. The theme of the month is introduced at the end of the lesson and continues through the rest of the month. For December, the theme is Struttin', a really neat variation of Blues dancing. The open dance -- called "Powerhouse Blues" -- is on the second floor of the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom St. If you're interested on coming December 5th, just come -- no preregistration necessary.

DINNER: If you'd like to meet beforehand, email Bruce at bruce@hirsches.comcastbiz.net. He will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Shake Shack, corner of 20th and Sansom, for a casual dinner and then alumni can walk down the block together.

Let's dance!
